In Pursuit of Your Beloved

In pursuit of your beloved often you are only interested in one who speaks with a golden tongue,

as you think they are able to keep up with your sayings

*

Do not merely seek one who is able to keep up with your sayings, but seek one whose heart is willing to fly with yours.

For when you seek one who is able to keep up with your sayings, you wish nothing but to be one in tongue.

But when you seek one whose heart is willing to fly with yours, you wish nothing but to be one in heart.

*

And to be one in heart is always better than to be one in tongue.

*

For one whose heart is willing to fly with yours must be able to keep up with your sayings; otherwise, how are you going to be able to embark on the journey together?

*

To be one in tongue is copper but to be one in heart is diamond.

One may be satisfied with the quality of some copper, yet not all copper is satisfactory.

But one will be satisfied with the quality of pure diamonds, irrespective of where they are treasured.

  1. Subhan, this is my favorite line…”And to be one in heart is always better than to be one in tongue.” This is simply perfect. I could not agree more. Somehow you managed to capture in words what it means to be able to connect even without words. Love it!

      • Your words are filled with a ‘heart’ energy which one cannot help but feel – Blessings with joy received, blessings in gratitude returned : )

  3. Great post. I am wondering if it is possible to search for both in a mate. Being one in heart is crucial but I think compatibility of mind is important as well. M

    • Thank you for your comment, Mirriam. I agree with you that mind-compatibility is important, and I think I have addressed that here:

“For one whose heart is willing to fly with yours must be able to keep up with your sayings; otherwise, how are you going to be able to embark on the journey together?”

So the idea is that, one in heart must guarantee one in tongue, but not vice versa. What do you think?
