A Fleeting Moment of Surprise

Sweetheart,

Come closer.

Sit next to me.

*

I will tell you a secret

That they don’t tell you in temples,

Recite in mosques,

Or whisper in churches.

 *

This morning

I had a fleeting moment of surprise!

*

When I finished my morning prayer

God kissed me on the cheek.

 *

It was a gentle kiss

that created the fleeting moment of surprise.

*

But the surprise did not end there

because then He played in my bloodstream

the way sunshine amuses itself on water.

  4. Very nice. While not quite the same it reminded me of when I plucked a tomato from my garden. And tasted the warmth of the sun still in it while I ate it. God is everywhere and by many names, attributes and in the writings of poets and scientists too. :)

  7. This poem is incredibly romantic. And the timing is perfect for me, coming up to my anniversary, because I want to share your wonderful poetry ~attributed to you of course~ with my beloved husband. I really find this poem speaks of finding our primary love with God first, and from that all other wonderful relationships will flow. Thank you so much for sharing your gift here with us all. Blessings, Gina
